Guidelines and directions for reaching the conference venue
Participants from all countries (except Nepal and Bhutan) may require an Indian visa to travel to Mumbai. The visa process, including biometric data collection, may take considerable time (in some cases up to a month). Please check with the relevant Indian Embassy about the application procedure at the earliest.
We recommend applying for a Conference Visa for this event. Kindly confirm the appropriate visa category with your nearest Indian Embassy/Consulate.
The nearest airport is Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai (Airport Code: BOM). It is advisable to fly directly to Mumbai, if possible. The distance from the airport to the conference venue is approximately 20 km.
Pre-paid taxis are available at the airport and typically cost around Rs. 500.
The other airport in Mumbai metropolitan area is Navi Mumbai International Airport (Airport Code: NMI). This airport also connects to major cities in India such as Delhi and Bengaluru.

The voltage in India is 220-240 volts, (50 Hertz). This is the same as, or similar to, most countries in the world including Australia, Europe and the UK. However, the plug socket used is Type D (See image below). European Type C plugs can be inserted seemlessly (without earthing).
Common plug types:
The type D has three large round pins in a triangular pattern. It is rated at 5 amps. Type M, which has larger pins and is rated at 15 amps, is used alongside type D for larger appliances. Some sockets can take both type M and type D plugs. We recommend getting a universal adapter and converter kit.
